The BCS will lead a flourishing community in Rio de Janeiro united by links to, or an interest in, Britain. The BCS will have as broad a membership as possible, appealing to people of all ages, backgrounds and interests. Most of the community activities will be based at a well-organised, secure and thriving centre where a wide range of facilities will be available. The BCS will provide support and community services to assist the disadvantaged. It will also support those within its own community who are aged or facing financial, family or health difficulties. The BCS will help to unify those British-linked organisations that deal with education, religion, culture, welfare, recreation and the environment. Companies and institutions will play a full and committed role in the development and ongoing support of the society. The society will play a strong and active role in promoting friendly relations and mutual awareness and understanding between Brazil and Britain.
