ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2018
The BCS will hold its Annual General Meeting on April 10th 2018, in the Jubilee Hall, with first call at 6.30 pm. The official convocation and proxy forms have been sent to members but you can retrieve a Proxy form from the BCS office if you need to.
This Meeting is held to fulfill legal requirements, and while it is the Election of the Council that draws most attention, it is equally importantly the opportunity for Members to hear about the Society’s welfare and social activities and especially, finances over the past twelve months. The audited accounts for 2017 will be available from the office before the AGM.
The current Council of 11 elected members consists of:
William Ballantyne – Hon. Treasurer
Jenny Byers – Chair
Rev. Alexander Cacouris
David Richardson – First Deputy Chair/Properties Committee
Noreen Smith – Welfare Committee
Anna Whyte – Second Deputy Chair/Events Committee
Five council members are at the end of their two-year mandates: Jenny Byers, Alexander Cacouris, Alexander Corrie, David Richardson and Noreen Smith and these vacancies on the Council need to be filled. We still welcome more candidates and hope you will consider getting involved in any capacity: e.g. Social/Membership/Events, Communications, Welfare, Properties, or just as an interested participant who is willing to help out. Candidates should be paid-up members of the BCS, and British or Commonwealth citizens. If you’ve never been involved, or if you have and want to have another go, please contact the Chair of the Society as soon as possible via the BCS Office.
